To close your account, please submit a written request clearly stating which account you would like to close.

Clicking the blue chat icon in the bottom-right corner of your dashboard, or
Emailing support@modernadvisor.ca
Before Your Account Can Be Closed
Your account must have a $0 balance before it can be officially closed.
Please note:
A small residual balance may remain temporarily to cover partial management fees, which are typically deducted mid-month.
If There Is a Remaining Balance
1) Residual balance after a transfer out
If there is a small leftover balance following a recent transfer to another institution, please contact support via chat or email and request that the remaining funds be sent to the receiving institution.
2) Balance over $10
If your account balance is more than $10 and you would like the funds sent to your bank account:
Log in to your dashboard
Submit a withdrawal request
3) Balance under $10
If your balance is under $10, please contact support via chat or email and request a withdrawal to your bank account.
Important: Access to Tax Documents
Once your account is closed, you will no longer have online access to your tax documents.
If you have a registered account (e.g., RRSP, TFSA, RESP), you may wish to keep the account open with a $0 balance until after tax season so you can download any required documents.
