Whether you are looking to build your retirement nest egg, or save for your child’s education, the ModernAdvisor Core and Socially Responsible portfolios offer diversified, high-quality, and cost-effective solutions for your unique needs.

The underlying funds used in the ModernAdvisor Core and Socially Responsible portfolios are exchange trade index funds (ETFs) that provide broad exposure to equities and fixed income.

The makeup of the portfolios

The ModernAdvisor Core and Socially Responsible portfolios are each offered in 10 different risk categories. Lower risk level portfolios are best suited for short-term goals or investors who are conservative in nature. Higher risk portfolios are best suited for long-term goals and more aggressive investors.

How are Socially Responsible portfolios different from ModernAdvisor's Core portfolios?

Our Core portfolios and Socially Responsible portfolios use the same allocation. The main different between our Core and Socially Responsible portfolios is the specific ETFs used.

Fees

The ModernAdvisor management for our Core and Socially Responsible portfolios is 0.40%

In addition to our management fee, each ETF within the portfolios has a Management Expense Ratio (MER). The average MER of the ETFs in the Core and Socially Responsible portfolios depend on the risk level and specific portfolio and will range from 0.12% to 0.26%.

The average MER of the ETFs in the portfolios can be found on the fact sheets or online.

If you have been referred to ModernAdvisor, you may pay service fees to the referral partner. In most cases, the service fees are for helping you establish your financial goals, providing financial planning guidance, developing overall wealth strategies, tax planning and/or assisting with the opening of your ModernAdvisor account(s).

Each account is also subject to a minimum management fee of $5/month per account or $2.50/month per RESP account.

ModernAdvisor management fee and advisor Service Fee are also subject to GST/HST based on the investor’s province of residence.

Minimum Investment

The minimum investment for the ModernAdvisor Core portfolios is $1,000 per account.
